These little exotic fruits are quite delicious!! Very sweet and tropical tasting. The fruit is found mostly in asian countries but is spreading around more as the years go on. I recommend eating as much local produce as possible but once in a while its fun to try things! (this is another reason I must move to California!! Canadian winters have NO local fresh produce!!). Persimmons are rich in dietary fiber, vitamin c, potassium and beta-carotene. Here is how to eat it! You can eat the skin, just wash it well! 




The fruit should be a nice dark orange to be ripe. First you want to cut out the top stem area.

Then you can slice it into sections similar to an orange. You can eat it just like that or throw it in a smoothie!
