YUP... I'm going to share my recipes for each of these treats with you so you have a healthier, delicious, cruelty free option for your Valentine's day! They are all actually quite fun to make and they all taste INCREDIBLE! Celebrate LOVE with one of these decadent sweets.. or all of them. ;)
Theses are like, apple pie bites/ jelly donuts with an apple crunch.
Just slice a section off the top and bottom of 2 apples (like in the photo) and set aside. Chop up the rest of the apples into chunks and blend them in a food processor with 8- 10 dates and a tsp of cinnamon. Blend until soft and mixed! You can eat them like sandwiches this way or like crackers loaded with the apple pie filling! It is probably easier to eat that way! AMAZING! ![]() Honestly, how good do those look? Chocolate cupcakes with melty marshmallow surprise inside, marshmallow icing and graham cracker crumble on top. Yes, I created these magical muffin miracles. I love s'mores, and marshmallows (dandies), and graham crackers. It was my birthday so I had to create something AMAZING. I went to my local health food store to get my staple ingredients and headed to the counter. I place down a package of Bob's Red Mill Chocolate Cake mix, a bag of mini Dandies and a box of GF graham cracker crumble. The cashier says, "I don't know what on earth you are making but it looks like it is going to be PHENOMENAL". He.hehe...She was right. ![]() This recipe is CLEAN, VEGAN, RAW, GLUTEN FREE, HEALTHY! It is SOO easy and quick, literally a 2 minute job. I had no idea how it would taste but I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. This is my new FAVORITE dessert! It is sooooooo good I can't even explain!! You just have to make it and see for yourself!! I think this is how I will eat pretty much all of my avocados from now on. I have an addiction to fresh guacamole but this is like.... soooooo firkin good I can't get over it. Seriously, go make it right now!! Here is what you will need: ![]() Strawberry banana ice cream/ smoothie with dark chocolate shreds? Looks like dessert, but I had it for breakfast :D In a blender, mix 1 Banana, 1 cup frozen strawberries, 3/4 cup almond milk and 1 tbs chia seeds. You can pour the almond milk slowly as you blend to keep it thick. Pour in a bowl and let it sit for 15 minutes in the fridge or freezer [depending how you want the consistency to be]. I shredded some pure dark chocolate on top. You could also sprinkle shredded coconut! YUM! Eat with a spoon and be FILLED WITH ENERGY! Ok seriously. Rice Crispy Squares are one of my favourite treats out there. I think it's because I LOVE marshmallows. S'mores..... everything Marshmallow. UNFORTUNATELY, marshmallows have ground up animal bones and other products (Like pig skin **sad face**) to create a main ingredient "gelatin". NASTY.
![]() I LOVE chocolate mint. If you don't, you can replace the mint with something else. Strawberries or other fruit/jam, or Vanilla, or Chocolate! I had a big event with a bunch of my business partners in Arbonne so I wanted to make an Arbonne Cake! I had no Idea how to even start.. but it turned out both beautiful and DELICIOUS! ![]() I turned them into cup cakes for a friend's birthday and they were a hit!! I also made mini ones! it ended up making 24 minis and 9 large!! What a deal! Check out The Mix Company for all of their products! I used boiled flax egg and chia with water to replace the eggs. I used a banana and apple sauce for a sweetener with a bit of stevia! SOOO moist and delicious!! Quite rich too!! The recipe for the "bettercream" icing is here! My mouth is watering reliving these babies! ![]() OH. MY. HEAVEN. These really are DREAM cookies. They were puffy and moist and chocolatey and delicious!! I will be featuring many mixes from The Mix Company on here. Its a company based out of Eganville, ON that sells fresh, healthy, gluten free mixes for all sorts of things! This is of of many cookie mixes. in all of the mixes, there are vegan alternatives so I will be testing them out and sharing my successes! I highly recommend this company because the mixes have the perfect blend of ingredients to help you gluten-free baking enjoyable again!! And easy too! ![]() Perfect for fall, winter and Thanksgiving weekend! This pecan, pumpkin pie went over well at my family dinner of 30! If you are looking for a healthier alternative to pumpkin pie, this is it! We cut out the flour, eggs, milk, butter and sugar! Using the natural sweetness of dates and maple syrup, it will still satisfy your sweet tooth. My aunt, who is always making dinner for the family, is celiac. She never even makes something she can eat! but she got to eat this one! ![]() Ok. so I LOOOOVEEE Mint Chocolate. Like.. LOVE. I was craving a chocolate, chocolate mint cookie but didn't have many options. I asked my sister [Andrea] if she wanted me to make some with the rest of our chocolate chips. She said, "Sam.. you need to have a recipe so they for sure turn out good." Therefore.. since she didn't trust my random experimental skills, I decided to use SOME and make myself a personal cookie.. Well, let me tell you! I brought that thing out when it was ready.. and it smelled SOOOOOO good. I sat it right beside her on the table. She kept glancing over and said it smelled and looked good. I gave her a piece and we both agreed it was amazing. So she said "Ok, should have trusted you! these are really good!!" She later suggested I open a vegan, gluten free bakery..... THAT got my business wheels turning. Maybe one day ;) ![]() Spice muffins are the perfect flavour for fall! I met a very sweet woman named Cate who owns and runs "The Mix Company" yesterday at the local health food store. She had loads of samples of her gluten free food mixes and every single one was DELICIOUS. I decided to buy her Spice Lovers Muffin mix. My dear mama has beautiful cherry tree in the back yard and this year is blossomed like crazy! She has BAGS full in the freezer so I decided to use some for these amazing spice muffins. You can use whatever you like! Carrots, zucchini, pumpkin, sweet potato, apple sauce etc! ![]() Craving chocolate cake? Here is a great gluten free, vegan, refined sugar free recipe for you! I am trying to perfect a frosting so I will post a separate recipe once I have! For this one I just blended some stevia, coconut milk (fullfat, thick part only) and coconut and popped it on top. I wanted a yummy filling so I added a local blackberry jam half way through. I want to perfect that too so stay tuned!! Here it is, enjoy! ![]() OH. MY. GOODNESS. I wish I could send smell and taste over the internet. Thats how amazing these are!! Perfect transition from summer to fall! A little peachy sweet with some soothing, warm spice! You could really replace the peaches with anything, but because they are in season, this is what I used!! All of the ingredients are healthy, its basically like having a bowl of oatmeal with some fresh peaches. Now, as you know, I usually don't eat fruit throughout the day or mixed with anything. So these are literally a treat. If you are into a super cleanse, might be best to mix in something else. You could use some pumpkin or raisins or chocolate chips (vegan). Whatever floats your boat but just a little warning! ![]() These cute little mini muffins are healthy AND they taste amazing! I used a mini muffin tray, you can use regular, mini, loaf tin, whatever floats your boat. They are pretty quick and easy to make and they are delicious! I kept them in the fridge and the next day they were even better!! The cold kept them moist and refreshing in a way! Definitely making these babies again!! As always, they are Gluten free, vegan and refined sugar free. I use stevia as a sweetener mostly but there is also xylitol and dates! ![]() Sometimes you just need a little treat. How exciting is it that you can make those treats clean and healthy!? Only 5 simple ingredients here! I LOVE chocolate mint. Like.. LOVEEEEE it. This recipe I made on a whim because I wanted to try and make chocolate mint something! I will soon perfect doing the same idea for clean peanut butter cups so stay tuned!! This recipe made 3 small cups and I used a muffin tray but small sizes! What you need: -DARK vegan chocolate, melted - 1 tsp of coconut oil - 5 tsp of shredded coconut (unsweetened) - 1 tsp of stevia - 4 drops of peppermint oil ![]() Think you'll never eat bread, baking, cookies, muffins and cupcakes again??? Don't worry, there is always a way!! Gluten free options are growing everywhere and so are vegan alternatives. This bread is delicious, moist and packed with protein! A slice of this bread is a great option for a snack if you really need, or with lunch or dinner. Also a great option for dessert after a healthy, veggie dinner! Here we go with the recipe! If you like "Bounty" chocolate bars or "Almond Mounds", these basically taste the same except frozen... and even better!
These magical little seeds are AMAZING and sooo healthy!! They are full of nutrients, omega 3 fatty acids (Super important if you aren't eating meat or eggs). They have great sources of calcium, manganese, and phosphorus. They help with weight loss because they expand about 10 TIMES their original size. [~Put some in a cup of water when your hungry and drink it! They will expand in your stomach and you will feel satisfied again!~] When they sit in liquid, they absorb and expand into a gel. This gel helps with digestion, and allows the nutrients to soak into the digestive system! Chia also helps strengthen your teeth and bones and has fiber and protein! They are also great for Diabetics because they help stabilize blood sugar levels and insulin resistance... which also helps fight the belly fat!
